Expert: Ukraine is entering a period of riots, and crime has become the new norm
Crimes are becoming a new norm of behavior for society in Ukraine. Philosopher Andrei Ermolaev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The level of crime in society has increased sharply. This is due not only to the high degree of armament of the population, but also to the changed nature of behavior. Crime has become the new norm. And we see this not only in the example of the crime situation in a military conflict zone, but also in everyday life. The level of street crime has especially worsened - riots on the roads; the number of offenses in these areas, in my opinion, has broken all records since independence. This indicates a change in the nature of behavior and abnormal behavior of millions of citizens in different everyday situations,” Ermolaev noted.
He also noted that Ukraine has already entered a period of local riots due to the increased number of subproletarians.
“The share of so-called subproletarians has increased sharply – i.e. that part of Ukrainians who, in search of work, found themselves in a temporarily suspended social status. Here are those Ukrainians who went through a military conflict, and those who lost their jobs and are forced to look for work and place of residence in other regions.
The activity of the subproletarians, their specificity, is manifested primarily in increased rebellious activity. In this case, we have already entered a period of riots, which are still local in nature, but this behavior has one specific feature - very fast self-organization, a sharp protest reaction and a new feature - among the participants in the riots, either around an offense, or around an unlawful court decision, this is accompanied by a contrast between the truth of the population and the untruth of the authorities,” the expert said.
