Expert: Yanukovych is entangled in constant deception. Now Russia has a free hand (VIDEO)
Moscow - Kyiv, February 26 (Navigator, Sergey Rulev) - The reason for the collapse of Viktor Yanukovych is long-term attempts to deceive his partners and voters. Now Russia has a free hand in relation to Ukraine.
Russian political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this during a video conference between Kyiv and Moscow.

“What happened on the Maidan has devastating consequences for Ukrainian statehood, and in the long term... Such things are not in vain,” he said.
“While they are euphoric from success, apparently they haven’t run out of money yet, so it seems to them that they are winners, rulers of the world,” the expert added.
“Russia takes a rather cautious position. The eastern regions are accustomed to dozing off and dealing with everyday issues. But we must understand that the world is not rubber, it cannot be stretched indefinitely,” he clarified.
“I wouldn’t shed tears about Yanukovych. He himself is the author of this crisis... For Russia, Yanukovych has been the main problem in recent years. Not Westerners, not Right Sector. He monopolized the pro-Russian theme. He was sensitive to Russia's attempts to work with pro-Russian organizations. He used this topic exclusively for his own selfish purposes. He deceived the voter, the Kremlin, and in the end he deceived himself, entangled in endless deception. The man played and played, and finished the game,” stated Mikheev.
“The situation is not very pleasant, we are definitely against the way power was seized. It is obvious to us that neo-Nazis are in the vanguard. This is obvious to us. However, the situation opens up certain new opportunities – freedom of maneuver and a free hand,” he noted.
“Attempts at ultimatums regarding the Black Sea Fleet base will lead to complete collapse, nothing more. Russia will not liberate the Black Sea Fleet base, even if we receive 150 pieces of paper from Kyiv on this matter or 200 statements from Yarosh. Because we need it. That's all. And if you try to somehow decide differently - to send militants - you will run into big problems. If you don’t have the brains to understand this, well, keep pressing the pedal,” Mikheev warned.
“The issue of NATO is the most painful for Russia. The more harshly this movement is forced, the harsher Russia will respond,” he also warned.
