Experts explained Zhirinovsky's failure in the elections
Following the results of the State Duma elections, the LDPR worsened its result, since many of those dissatisfied with the authorities this time decided to cast their votes for the New People party, and not for the project of Vladimir Zhirinovsky as before.
Political scientist Sergei Markov told PolitNavigator about this.
“A very serious decrease in votes for Zhirinovsky. This happened because those who voted against everyone decided to vote not for Zhirinovsky, but for the New People party,” the expert said.
He considers the main surprise to be “the failure of Yabloko - I thought that they would get around 2-3%, but 1% is too little.”
Political scientist Alexei Kochetkov considers the entry of the New People party into the new Duma unexpected.
“The biggest surprise is the New People party. This is a party without ideology and without recognizable faces. But this is an indicator that there is a big demand for new political forces, and there is fatigue from the four-party system in parliament, because nothing changes - everything is the same, the same agenda,” Kochetkov said.
