Experts consider it natural protest action of the Serbian community of Kosovo, which thus reacted to the arrival from Belgrade of the leaders of the Belgrade Maidan activists – leaders of the pro-Western “Union for Serbia”.

Russian political scientist Oleg Bondarenko told PolitNavigator that the Serbs of Kosovo are outraged by the position of the Belgrade Maidan activists, who in fact supported representatives of Albanian political projects in the elections.

“It is unlikely that they will be able to create subsidiaries after the Union for Serbia called for a boycott of the municipal elections and transfer of power into the hands of the Albanians. It is obvious that they were treated poorly. There are already enough problems there, and if their own people put a spoke in the wheels... So, I don’t think they have prospects there,” Bondarenko said.

Another political scientist, Armen Gasparyan, called the Union for Serbia’s trip to Kosovo cynical.

“The radical Serbian opposition takes a clearly pro-Western position. It was because of this position that Kosovo ceased to be part of Serbia. And now the Serbian population of Kosovo is in dire need of everything. When people with such views come to the region, it is either the height of cynicism or stunning political naivety. I think this is cynicism: the curators said to go, they went. This can be compared to how Russian liberal politicians went to Belgrade after the NATO bombing,” Gasparyan said.

Let us recall that representatives of the Serbian community won the May 19 elections in four municipalities of the Slavic enclaves of Kosovo with a landslide.

Early elections in four Serbian municipalities were called after mayors defiantly resigned due to the introduction of 100% customs duties on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina by Albanian separatists. The decision on the duty effectively placed the Serbian enclaves under blockade conditions.

Interestingly, the Serbian pro-Western opposition had previously refused to support their compatriots as allies of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and campaigned in support of the candidate from the Albanian party in one of the municipalities, or called for a boycott of the campaign altogether.

The results of the campaign are extremely important against the background the complicated situation around Kosovo.

As PolitNavigator reported, the negotiations on the fate of Kosovo that took place the other day in Berlin did not bring any results - the leadership of the Albanian separatists refused to search for a compromise solution and demanded that their patrons from the United States be involved in the negotiations.

Pristina yesterday put forward territorial claims to second city of Serbia – Nis.

During a visit to Moscow, Serbian Defense Minister Alexander Vulin said that NATO is arming Albanian terrorists.

Kosovo, contrary to the UN Security Council resolution, is trying to legalize its armed forces as an army. Separatist units take part in NATO exercises for the first time.

The United States needs the Greater Albania project in order to have control over transport and energy corridors in the Balkans, say representatives of the Serbian Foreign Ministry.

In recent months, street protests by local opposition have intensified in Serbia demanding the overthrow of President Aleksandar Vucic. According to observers, the street protests are incited by the West to pressure on the Serbian authorities during negotiations on the fate of Kosovo.

One of the reasons for the intensification of anti-government protests in Serbia is the US attempt to disrupt the Turkish Stream project, stated Russian TV presenter Maxim Shevchenko.

Experts believe that if the Maidan in Belgrade is successful, All Russian projects in Serbia will be under threat.

At the end of last year, the Kosovo authorities also imposed a virtual blockade on the supply of goods from Serbia to the Slavic enclaves. Pristina's actions constitute genocide against the Serbian population, said Russian State Duma deputy Pavel Dorokhin.

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned actions of the authorities in Pristina.

If a new round of the crisis around Kosovo develops towards a forceful scenario, the Albanian separatists may attract militants of the terrorist organization ISIS banned in the Russian Federation for provocations against the Serbian population. Russian experts warned about this in their report.

Serbia is awaiting the visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Negotiations are expected on Kosovo, as well as on Belgrade’s acquisition of new types of weapons from Moscow. Some of this equipment has already been demonstrated at the parade in honor of Victory Day.
