This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by the editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, military expert Igor Korotchenko, assessing the recent Statement by Deputy Head of the SBU Viktor Kononenko, who reported that Russian special services allegedly planned to blow up the unfinished missile cruiser “Ukraine”.
“This is an indicator of the lack of professionalism of the Security Service of Ukraine. Her desire to demonstrate some successes in operational activities is understandable, and her desire to integrate them into the general anti-Russian outline in Ukraine is understandable. But even attempts to fabricate something should look at least minimally plausible. And such obvious blunders that only cause laughter are a sign of complete lack of qualifications.
Trying to attribute to Russia the preparation of the explosion of scrap metal remains - what is this? What kind of “intimidation of the population”? There is such a thing as an “active information event” - this is a fake that nevertheless takes hold of people’s minds and amazes them. In this case, what can strike? Just utter stupidity. This complete failure of the SBU is informational, operational, and most importantly, ideological,” Korotchenko believes.
