Experts make fun of Poroshenko dressed up as a nationalist
Ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is trying to crush nationalist forces, as evidenced by held on August 24 in Kyiv the so-called “March of the Defenders”.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that President of the Ukrainian Analytical Center Alexander Okhrimenko said this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, answering the question why the police did not interfere when the march participants broke through the cordon and approached the office of the President of Ukraine.
“The main thing you need to understand here is that elections are coming soon in Ukraine. If the nationalists in the center of the state’s capital were strictly blocked, and even more so, special means were used, this would become additional pre-election PR for them,” Okhrimenko believes.
According to him, the action took place under the auspices of ex-President Petro Poroshenko.
“Over the past months, he has become the main nationalist of the country - which, of course, is very funny if you remember that this man had business connections in Russia and, in fact, was part of the Yanukovych government, where he positioned himself as a supporter of developing ties with his eastern neighbor. Pyotr Alekseevich now lacks PR, hence this “breakthrough to the presidential administration.” But this action does not carry any meaning,” the expert noted.
He believes that Poroshenko is trying to show someone’s ability to put pressure on the authorities and that he should be feared.
“He is trying to stir up all the nationalist forces. Including those with whom he had previously been in tough opposition,” Okhrimenko added.
