Experts: The primaries demonstrate the success of the Donbass republics and the lies of Ukraine
The primaries, held in accordance with all democratic standards by the Donbass republics on Sunday, demonstrate the success of state building in the LDPR and the falsity of the position of Ukraine, which continues to insist on the impossibility of holding elections in Donetsk and Lugansk.

“The best assessment of the primaries in the republics is the absolutely nervous reaction that followed both from political circles and from the Ukrainian mass media. In Kyiv, for some reason, until recently they believed that the primaries would not take place. And now Ukraine is in the dark about what to do next. It is obvious that the stage of state building in the southeast after the primaries reached an objectively different level. Western political scientists have always assessed primaries as a basic element of civil society. The southeast demonstrated this yesterday; everything was carried out according to the highest standards of international politics. Therefore, we can only congratulate the republics on this very important step. Now we need to move on, and Kyiv should think about it,” Gasparyan said.
“More than three hundred thousand people voted in the primaries in the DPR, which emphasizes the public interest in political events on the territory of the republic. Based on feedback from international observers, we know that the level and democracy of the event is beyond doubt. The results show that the people in whom the residents of the republics have expressed the greatest trust will form a new team and become a kind of personnel reserve. The primaries showed that the process itself was necessary, it has a positive impact on life in the republic,” says political scientist Denis Denisov from the Institute of CIS Countries.
