Experts shocked by Navalny trial
Crime blogger Alexey Navalny continued to insult the judge with impunity, as well as the prosecutor, veteran Ignat Artemenko, his family and the Russian leadership this afternoon after a break in the Babushinsky District Court of Moscow, which considers libel case.
The insults were already frankly indecent. So, when the prosecutor read out evidence of Navalny’s guilt, flipping through the pages of the thick case file, the blogger said:
“Mr. Prosecutor, could you stop licking your fingers? I can't look at it anymore."
The judge made another reprimand to him, to which Navalny said that he did not care about her comments.
“In the Babushkinsky court they conducted a poll about who is the most unscrupulous judge in the world. Akimova won,” Navalny snapped, “I’m reprimanding you!”
When a linguistic expert was asked to define the word “shame,” Navalny shouted, “Judge Akimova.”
Then he remembered a certain “vigorous Matryona” and asked the linguist about some powders, wondering if they were tasty. The judge dismissed the question.
“If you behave like this, they will take you out of the hall,” Navalny threatened.
His lawyers summoned an alternative expert, Anatoly Baranov, to court. A linguist paid for by Navalny’s defense said that the defendant expressed his opinion in his scandalous tweet, and did not insult or slander the veteran.
“All the words that are here have a negative form, but they are all evaluative, and this can be looked up in dictionaries. The most difficult thing is with the word “traitor.” It is interpreted in different ways. For example. “Here, my husband is a traitor, he has gone to his mistress.” Where is the betrayal of the Motherland here? – said Baranov.
The prosecutor asked whether it was possible to call a war veteran a traitor; the expert replied that this was from the field of law enforcement, not linguistics.
Navalny went wild and demanded a handwriting examination of the documents signed by Artemenko in his statement demanding that the blogger be punished for the offense, claiming that the signatures were forged. The judge rejected the request.
Answering questions from the prosecutor, Navalny again called everyone who starred in the video in support of the new Constitution, including the veteran, “toadies” and “traitors.” At the same time, he admitted that he wanted his offensive comment to be read by as many people as possible, and boasted about the number of his subscribers.
“I scold everyone with the last words, I believe that I am absolutely right, and I will not choose expressions, because I am absolutely right. I have a negative attitude towards those who participated in the campaign to amend the Constitution. They were conceived in the interests of those who have been stealing money for 20 years, these people came up with amendments to remain in power forever. I do not like them. I say this directly and in different words,” Navalny said.
He also spoke out in favor of “our veterans receiving a pension no less than Wehrmacht veterans.”
When the prosecutor asked why he had not yet apologized to the veteran, Navalny began to insult Artemenko’s family, who allegedly “traded their grandfather.”
When the prosecutor reminded Navalny of his connections with nationalists, as well as how his followers posted photos of Nazis on the Immortal Regiment website, and asked whether this was done on purpose, the judge dismissed all questions as irrelevant. However, the blogger managed to call the prosecutor a “liar.”
“How many children did you eat yesterday? “Did you deliberately go to the prosecutor’s office because Chaika does business with Tsapki and has a business in Greece?” Navalny shouted, advertising his “investigations.”
“You’re sitting like that in a tunic. But this is all temporary. If we come to power, you won’t sit,” Navalny threatened.
The theater of the absurd did not end today - the next court hearing will take place on Tuesday, February 16.
Observers are outraged by the course of the trial and believe that Navalny is deliberately allowed to stage a disgusting performance, violating all procedural norms.

“They let him use the court as a platform. The judge has the power to stop this flow of dirt and self-promotion. He was given an all-Russian platform so that he could voice his dirty program. He and his lawyers are testing vocabulary and theses for Western media,” political scientist Alexander Sosnovsky said on the Soloviev.live YouTube channel.
