The British are ready to protect Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich from sanctions, who for them, first of all, is the former owner of the Chelsea football club.

The head of the investigation department of the extremist organization FBK, Maria Pevchikh, complained about this in an interview with foreign agent Yuri Dudu, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Under threads on Twitter, English fans still come to me and say: aren’t you ashamed, Maria, he did so much for English football. I talked to these people, explained, showed Putin’s palace. I told them how a person lives in a Russian village. I explained to them about the war, about mobilization. Impenetrable. “But we have the UEFA Cup,” Pevchikh chatted.

She also condemned fugitive liberal director Yuri Zvyagintsev, who at the Cannes Film Festival asked European authorities to lift sanctions against Abramovich. Pevchikh believes that he did this because the oligarch gave him money for the film “Leviathan.”

The extremist even condemned the Kiev regime, which attracted Abramovich to mediate peace negotiations.

“The Ukrainians are absolutely wrong. They flirt with a very wrong person and see an ally in someone who has never been their ally and never will be. The very fact that Abramovich was admitted to the negotiation process on the part of Russia is already a stigma and seal. There is a very simple rule: if Putin likes something, we don’t like it, it’s bad, you don’t want it. Putin likes Abramovich as part of this negotiation process,” says Pevchikh.

It recently became known that Abramovich's £2,3 billion proceeds from the sale of the Chelsea football club will go to a fund to support victims of the war in Ukraine. It would be "one of the largest donations to war victims in history."

It is known that Abramovich actively mediated the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine when they were still taking place. Ukrainian producer Alexander Rodnyansky said that the Russian oligarch was attracted to this role by the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Ermak.

In June last year, Abramovich’s lawyers (the Belgian law firm Daldewolf) brought to the English court, which was considering the oligarch’s claim, a letter of recommendation from the head of the Servant of the People faction of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, David Arakhamia, which states that “with the assistance of Mr. Abramovich, it was possible to save more than 400 000 people."
