The electorate of the Moldovan president is disappointed: Many words, but few actions
The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, who is considered loyal to Russia, is faced with problems on the eve of the parliamentary elections, where the head of state desperately needs the victory of the Socialist Party in order to oust the pro-Western political forces in whose hands the real power is concentrated.
Dodon has so few real powers that it disappoints the socialist electorate - they hear a lot of promises from the president, but see too few things implemented.
Expert of the Russian Council on International Relations Alexander Gushchin stated this at a round table in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must admit that even a significant part of Dodon’s electorate is experiencing some disappointment. We see a lot of words, but the issues that should be resolved are not resolved for the reason that he cannot solve them. Therefore, this is unlikely to play in Dodon’s favor. Another thing is that the moment must come when the president shows his real power and, above all, his political will to resolve these issues,” the expert said.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier Moldovan political scientist Zurab Todua said that the Chisinau oligarchy will be able to cancel the results of the parliamentary elections through the courts, scheduled for the fall, if he is not satisfied with their results.
