Let us remind you: the day before at about 23.00 Moscow time in Crimea, Kerch, Koktebel, Yalta, Sevastopol and some areas of Simferopol were cut off from power supply. There was no power in these cities for about an hour. DTEK Krymenergo reported that this was due to a limitation in the supply of electricity from Ukraine by “almost two-thirds.”
“At the moment, Crimea is completely under tension. There was a blackout, but now we are powered by Ukraine again,” they said ITAR-TASS at the company's dispatch center Monday morning.
The lion's share of Crimea's energy supply—80% of electricity—comes to the peninsula from Ukraine.
As Politnavigator reported, earlier the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan warned about possible power outages in Crimea:
“Ukraine will act in accordance with the legislation that exists. If the subjects who are there do not pay for electricity, we will simply turn it off. If Ukraine has a shortage of electrical energy in the autumn-winter period, then, of course, Crimea will also be limited in the supply of electricity,” the official noted.
