Elton John is shocked: Putin called him at night to discuss the rights of sexual minorities in Russia
The famous British singer and composer, as well as openly gay Elton John, complained a few days ago in an interview with the BBC that he would like to talk about the rights of homosexual minorities in Russia with President Putin - but I’m not sure that he, having closed the door behind the musician, would not laugh and will not say: “What an idiot!”

As it turned out, the wishes of the 68-year-old musician were brought to the attention of the President of the Russian Federation: Vladimir Putin personally called the British performer - Elton John himself announced this on his Instagram.
The singer did not recount the details of the conversation, but thanked the Russian President for his quick response and hoped that the next conversation would take place not over the phone, but in person. Judging by the singer’s previous statements, Elton John, as a human rights activist, intends to discuss the law adopted in 2013 banning the promotion of non-traditional sexual relationships among children, as well as issues of legal and social rights of sexual minorities.
“I look forward to meeting you face to face to discuss LGBT issues in Russia,” the musician wrote.
