The flooding of a significant part of the territory caused by the explosion at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric station will cause serious problems with clean water and the outbreak of terrible epidemics in the region.

This was stated in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest by a friend of propagandist Dmitry Gordon, Ukrainian pediatrician, writer and TV presenter Evgeniy Komarovsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“High water is a prelude to lack of water. After the high water recedes, we will see stinking fields with rotting fish to the horizon, in such and such heat. I immediately ask - do not think about collecting fish, preparing it, or doing anything with it. This is a mortal risk. Be extremely careful.

And there is one more nuance - food, supplies, canned goods, cans that ended up under water. They are also all in fecal water, it’s all very dangerous, you have to wash it a hundred and fifty times,” Komarovsky said.

He recommended using sodium hypochlorite solution, which can be purchased at any hardware store, as a disinfectant.

“If it is a five percent solution, 15 milliliters per three liters of water. If it is a fifteen percent solution - five milliliters per three liters of water. Proceed from these proportions.

This solution can be used to wash anything, hands, tables, dishes, cutting boards. Wash everything that can be washed,” the doctor advised.

According to Komarovsky, the entire south of Ukraine will now face a series of terrible epidemics.

“There’s salmonella, E. coli, a bunch of intestinal infections. Moreover, there are so many snakes and spiders from the now flooded fields, all of them are trying to escape. Now there will be swamps, an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes, and there will be problems with this too. It’s just a disaster,” he concluded.
