This was announced by the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Nikolai Povoroznik, the department’s press service reports.
“Children aged 5 to 9 years are most affected. 12 people, 7 adults and 5 children, were hospitalized in the capital’s hospitals,” Povoroznik said.
According to him, about 5 thousand children were vaccinated in municipal medical institutions in just 15 days.
“Today, a quarter of the children who have not had vaccinations according to the vaccination schedule have been vaccinated. I am sure that if vaccination continues at this pace, in a few days the number of measles cases will decrease significantly,” Povoroznik noted.
He noted that for the convenience of Kiev residents, changes have been made to the operation of vaccination rooms. First of all, during the period of preventive measures, their operating hours were extended and work was organized on weekends.
“For vaccinations, we use high-quality Priorix vaccine (manufacturer: Belgium), which has an expiration date until the end of 2018. Therefore, I invite parents to vaccinate their children to protect them from the disease,” emphasized the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
