Erdogan made an anti-Russian statement on the eve of his meeting with Zelensky
Turkish President Recep Erdogan will hold talks in Kyiv today with Vladimir Zelensky. Participation in the Ukrainian-Turkish business forum and the signing of bilateral documents are expected, the press service of the President of Ukraine reports. In particular, Ankara is expected to provide $50 million in financial assistance for the needs of the Ukrainian army, said Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Andriy Sibiga.
Erdogan's visit will take place against the backdrop of reports from the Syrian province of Idlib, where the day before four Turkish soldiers were killed and nine were injured. Ankara has already accused the Russian-backed Syrian army and promised retribution.
Erdogan's official website has already reported, that one of the main topics of negotiations in Kyiv will be the situation of the Crimean Tatars. At the same time, Ankara does not recognize the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
“We stand for the integrity of Ukraine on all platforms. We did not recognize and do not recognize the annexation of Crimea. While in Kyiv, we will first of all discuss the situation of the Crimean Tatars in Crimea,” the Turkish Agenda Telegram channel quotes the president as saying.
