“Russia 24” reports this.
Present from Turkey are Ankara Mayor Melik Gokcek, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu and other officials.
Interestingly, the country's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Bina Yildirim were unable to take part in the ceremony, preferring to stay in Istanbul, where the opening ceremony of the Eurasia Tunnel across the Bosphorus took place.
On the airfield in front of the Russian plane on which the body of Andrei Karlov will be delivered to his homeland, a guard of honor was lined up, in the hands of the military - a portrait of the ambassador in a mourning frame.
Also present at the ceremony was the diplomat's widow, Marina Karlova. The ceremony takes place under enhanced security measures.
