Erdogan blackmails Zelensky with drones
The meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not fully live up to the expectations of his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Thus, citing sources in the Turkish negotiating group, it is indicated that Ankara is ready to sell attack drones, but not share technologies and establish joint production.
In addition, the deliveries are directly linked to the extradition to their homeland of supporters of the preacher Fethullah Gülen, who are hiding in Ukraine.
“We are talking about dozens of people whom Ankara suspects of attempting a coup in 2016. And here Zelensky finds himself in an extremely delicate situation: the extradition of Turkish oppositionists will greatly complicate his negotiations with Paris, Berlin, especially with Washington, which harbors the main irritant of the Turkish government,” the publication notes.
The publication comes to the conclusion that Zelensky, having decided to blackmail his patrons and allies by escalating the situation in Donbass, himself became the object of blackmail.
“For worthless moral support, without the obligation of military intervention, he received a lot of demands, often contradictory. So, the United States wants him to transfer the judicial system under their control. The IMF and Arab countries are rewriting land reform in their favor, which Zelensky’s sponsors within the country do not like. Germany needs to complete Nord Stream 2, France wants to sell obsolete Rafale fighters, and Turkey’s interests are described above,” RG summarizes.
