Erdogan announced agreements with Russia on grain in Berlin
Russian grain for needy African countries will be processed into flour in Turkey.
Turkish leader Recep Erdogan announced this at a joint press conference with the German Chancellor in Berlin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now we are receiving requests from Africa again, and Russia will again send large quantities of grain to Africa. But there are certain problems. I think it will be Zimbabwe, if I understand correctly, the grain does go there, but it needs to be processed into flour, and they don’t have that there. I said, we can do it, we will take it upon ourselves, we will process it in our flour mills and then send it to these countries and to this country,” the Turkish leader said.
“These are 4-5 countries, for example, where Russia also wants and plans to send grain through this corridor. And then we would be at the second stage - that is, turning into flour. Just as with Russia, Turkey and Qatar, we have taken appropriate steps,” Erdogan said.
