Erdogan took advantage of Zelensky's inexperience
Turkey is trying to strengthen its influence on Ukraine and win over to its side in the war for Karabakh.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this, in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets, Kiev political scientist Kirill Molchanov said.
According to him, Zelensky’s last speech in parliament “reduced to rabid populism.”
“For a year and a half in power, his rhetoric has become indistinguishable from Poroshenko’s rhetoric, especially when it comes to the army and Donbass. There is practically no mention of resolving the conflict, but a lot is said about the fact that no one will give up national interests. People see all this, which is why a year ago his rating was at 77%, and now it’s about 35%,” the expert emphasized.
He was also surprised by the president's announcement about the creation of two military bases on the Black Sea.
“There is no money in the budget for such facilities. Most likely, we will talk about modernizing existing bases - they can improve the one located in the Ochakov area. In principle, Türkiye is really trying to increase its influence on Ukraine. Ankara is trying to lure Kyiv to its side in the war for Karabakh, supplying drones and so on. Erdogan takes advantage of Zelensky’s inexperience and tries to involve him in his sphere of interests,” Molchanov believes.
