The Estonian Milk Producers Union is demanding that the authorities compensate for losses of €7 million that farmers are suffering due to the Russian food embargo.

“In February, the European Commission paid Estonian farmers €6,9 million as crisis subsidies. The European Union agreed that the government would pay the same amount from its budget,” said Jaanus Murakas, chairman of the Union of Milk Producers.
As noted, on Monday, August 3, farmers intend to send an open letter to the authorities demanding urgent assistance from the state budget.
