The Estonian minister bowed to the Ukrainian fighters against “aggression”

During a briefing following a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadim Prystaiko, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu assured of his support for Ukraine, once again touching on the topic of “Russian aggression” and Russian passports in Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We had a good bilateral meeting with my colleague. On behalf of the Estonian government, I want to bow to the Ukrainian people and the courage they showed in the face of the aggression of the Russian Federation. We are also surprised by the impressive package of reforms that Ukraine has undertaken and will implement...

As part of the development of international relations, Estonia is a friend of Ukraine and strongly supports Ukraine’s potential entry into NATO and the EU, subject to objective reform transformations in the country.

We will never accept the occupation of Crimea and the processes taking place in the East of Ukraine. We also do not apply any exceptions to the universality of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

Estonia was the first country that did not recognize the issuance of Russian passports in the so-called Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and we believe that this is the eradication of Ukrainian national documents.

Russian aggression must be recognized in international arenas. Everything must be clear: Russia is the aggressor, and Ukraine is the victim of this aggression,” the Estonian diplomat concluded.

Let us recall that yesterday NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that currently it is impossible to say exactly when Ukraine will become a NATO member, but Kyiv must still implement NATO standards.
