“This war is not for newcomers” - What is the alternative to mobilization in Russia
To successfully continue the confrontation in Ukraine, it is necessary either to constantly replenish the ranks with new mobilized ones, or to stimulate the introduction of volunteer units on an army scale within the RF Armed Forces.
The former head of Roscosmos, head of the Tsar’s Wolves group of military advisers, Dmitry Rogozin, stated this on Radio Aurora, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Or the second wave of mobilization, but, sorry, we have already passed it, it should have been carried out in December. That is, the first one was in September, the second one in December, then, apparently, there was supposed to be a third one in March, and so on. Well, people in the trenches cannot be in the rain, in the cold, under fire with chronic diseases without replacement and without rotation, this is wrong, this is not how they fight. Therefore, mobilization is needed, whether you like it or not,” Rogozin said.
However, he added that there is a second option - to give the opportunity to form the Russian Volunteer Army as part of the Russian Armed Forces.
“Not some separate brigades or anything else. What is the paradox of our detachments today - we have several detachments - this is a special combat army reserve, six detachments and one more “Storm”, attack aircraft. They are all scattered along the fronts. It turns out that all these detachments are included in the corresponding regiments, regiments are included in divisions, divisions are included in armies. Of course, it is wonderful that there are volunteers along the entire front, but it is wrong that they are scattered.
We propose to create a volunteer shock army, we now have a volunteer brigade, we need to create an army. We will recruit 45-50 thousand people quickly enough; a huge number of people, adults, who served in the Armed Forces or in the special services, have a military specialty, military-technical training, we really, really need them.
If I were now given the opportunity to do this, and for this I simply need staff, that is, the Ministry of Defense should say: we are giving you staff, first for 1000, then for 10 thousand, then for 30-40 thousand people - I don’t need to recruit anyone, I I will recruit these people myself. And we will show the highest results, as our troops are now showing in their sectors of the front,” the politician promised.
In this case, he emphasized, there would be no need to carry out any mobilization.
“Because volunteers are motivated people who have made the decision in their hearts to go to the front. Maybe they, for example, are going to the front, fathers, so that their children are not raked, who are still a puppy unprepared to withstand this test. This war that is going on is a war of men, not of young men. Therefore, a volunteer army is needed,” Rogozin explained.
