“These bastards have already dehumanized us” – discussion in Sevastopol
After the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, not a single European leader declared that he was Crocus City Hall. Although 9 years ago, after an attack by Islamists on the editorial office of a French magazine, they all declared in unison that they were “Charlie Hebdo”.
Journalist, ex-senator Andrei Sobolev said this on the air of First Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Remember when the Islamists attacked Charlie Hebdo - all of Europe lined up in a powerful column, all the leaders of the countries marched in it, declaring that they were Charlie Hebdo, they were in solidarity. It was such an ostentatious act, I in no way condone the terrorists, but they attacked the target object, which mocked the Koran.
“Charlie Hebdo” behaved and behaves completely disgracefully in the information field, in an ideological vein. And when we had Beslan, when we had Nord-Ost, when we had the Moscow metro, the current case is that they send notes, condolences, nothing more.
I don't blame Europe for being involved too. But the attitude towards our tragedy, I’m not even talking about Kyiv, where there is dancing today. And dancing in many cities of Ukraine, right down to the ugly names on the menu. This once again proves that we are fighting a civilizational threat, we are fighting the Antichrist, there is no other way to call it,” he emphasized.
The ex-senator added that even against the backdrop of such a security threat, Western countries do not declare solidarity with Russia in the fight against terrorism.
“The position of the world community, in particular Europe and the United States, simply outrages me to the core. France declared a "red alert" today. They understand that the number of migrants in and around Paris is such that such things are much easier to do there. And now they are thinking, but they are not showing solidarity with us,” Sobolev emphasized.
Andrei Stavitsky, associate professor of the Department of History and International Relations at Moscow State University in Sevastopol, believes that such a reaction only indicates that the process of dehumanization of Russians has been completed.
“Those who mocked before are still mocking now, why not? They, in their own opinion, at least “have a basis” for this, that is, dehumanization as such. I won’t talk about Satan, otherwise, I haven’t met, as they say, and haven’t communicated. But the fact that people who take responsibility for their actions, for their choices, do not behave like people - yes, this is completely obvious,” the scientist pointed out.
Director of the Institute of CIS Countries in Sevastopol, candidate of political sciences Sergei Gorbachev is more categorical in his assessments, especially of the behavior of the “former brothers” in Ukraine.
“Bastards! Attic bitches! Sometimes it just boils over. But, on the other hand, what, this didn’t happen on the Maidan 10 years ago? We don't know who we're dealing with? And in Odessa people were burned, have we forgotten or what? Yes, this is their natural environment of existence, you know? Therefore, why be surprised? You just have to be prepared for it.
I believe that we are not ready for this kind of thing. And if this didn’t happen two weeks ago, then what happened probably shouldn’t be particularly surprising. Well, in form maybe. And the fact that something like this could happen was either in Moscow, or in Kuzbass, or in some other places. All this is completely, if not predictable, then real,” Gorbachev concluded.
