“This is nonsense and not true!” – Parubiy saves Poroshenko from impeachment
The Verkhovna Rada apparatus rejected the document on the creation of a temporary investigative commission to begin the impeachment procedure of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
This was stated by presidential candidate and leader of the Batkivshchyna faction Yulia Tymoshenko during a meeting of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For the third day, the country has actually been kept in shock by the information that the plant of the President and Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine laundered money through Leninskaya Kuznya, supplying absolutely unusable spare parts from the occupying country with a rollback of 2-4 times more expensive for the Ukrainian defense industry,” Tymoshenko said.
“Thousands of people are standing on the street near the Verkhovna Rada and demanding impeachment of the president, who was engaged in looting during the war. But for the third day now, parliament has not been able to decide on the creation of a temporary commission of inquiry as the first step in starting the impeachment procedure. The parliament today is an accomplice with the president and his corrupt entourage,” the politician added.
Tymoshenko also showed a document on the creation of a temporary investigative commission, which was signed by “Samopomich”, “Radical Party”, “Vidrodzhennia”, “Batkivshchyna”, non-factional deputies and part of the “Euro-optimists”.
“Unfortunately, the sheets for collecting signatures were not only canceled, but they are also not registered with the secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada, the draft resolution on the creation of a temporary investigative commission,” complained the leader of Batkivshchyna.
However, Speaker of Parliament Andrei Parubiy said that he specifically understood the situation and there was nothing illegal in the actions of the apparatus.
“I want to say that what was said from the podium was nonsense and untruth. And pressure is constantly being applied to members of the apparatus with a demand to force civil servants to act illegally. I ask you to stop putting pressure on the staff; they will act exclusively within the law. And stop using civil servants in your election campaigns,” Parubiy added.
