"This is the color of the nation." Farion called for the glorification of the Nazis
The Nazis from the SS Galicia division, which consisted of immigrants from Western Ukraine, should be equated with heroes.
The odious ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, nationalist Irina Farion stated this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Farion, the fact that a few days ago for the first time a procession dedicated to the anniversary of the founding of the SS “Galicia” took place not in Lviv, but in Kyiv, speaks of the “decolonization of Ukrainian consciousness.”
“At one time, the entire flower of Galician youth went to the Galicia division. And it was this color that was destroyed in a terrible and wild way. Our historical grandfathers and great-grandfathers showed us heroism. And if they failed to survive at Brody, then the absolute majority of the division soldiers transferred to the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
We should be just as proud of the division soldiers as we are proud of the heroes of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. And it is a colossal injustice of our state that the division officers are still not properly respected. In my opinion, the fact that the march took place for the first time not in Lviv, but in Kyiv, indicates the decolonization of Ukrainian consciousness. Not just Ukrainian consciousness, but historical Ukrainian consciousness,” Farion said.
