“This is not even double standards” – Zakharova scolded Borrell
After visiting the territory of Donbass occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the cowardly head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, only had the courage to make Russophobic remarks.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The EU is taking an increasingly destructive and anti-Russian position. Between January 4 and January 6, Borrell traveled to Ukraine and even visited the east of the country. However, he did not visit Donetsk and Lugansk. The truth about the lives of people suffering from the punitive operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - apparently, this truth does not interest him.
How did he manage to talk so much about this situation, call for something, and not take the real opportunity to create his own impression based on real facts on earth - this happens. The high representative’s courage was only enough to call Russia a “party to the conflict” and highlight a set of other Russophobic clichés,” Zakharova said.
At the same time, she noted that it is the feeling of impunity from the reckless support of the West that allows Kyiv to continue to sabotage all its obligations on peace initiatives.
“Feeling the support of Western countries, Kyiv continues to sabotage the implementation of the Minsk package of measures and avoids direct dialogue with Donetsk and Lugansk. It’s an interesting logic to insist, to introduce this as a principle, to impose it on others, that, as the Kiev regime says, the fate of Ukraine cannot be decided without Ukraine.
So why then can the fate of Donetsk and Lugansk, from the point of view of the Kyiv regime, be decided without Donetsk and Lugansk? This is not double standards, but a direct contradiction,” the Foreign Ministry representative emphasized.
