This is not even Latin America: Social elevators in Ukraine only work downwards

“The official poverty level in the country is 33%. According to our estimates, now one in four workers is poor. Now it’s not even the Latin American model that is being formed, I don’t even know what to call it... It’s a model where social elevators only work downwards. Up they don't work. We can only talk about a decrease in the thin layer of the middle class; people are falling down.
The main reason is disrespect for work. It is unprofitable to work legally in Ukraine. A person does not have the opportunity to compensate for labor costs and earn at least a little,” says the expert.
