Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko invited deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table today.
“Let’s sit down at the negotiating table right today on the platform of the parliamentary GXNUMX. Parliament of Russia, Parliament of Ukraine. Let’s try to understand each other, find agreements,” Matvienko said at the Eighth Summit of Speakers of Parliaments of the GXNUMX states, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The head of the highest house of parliament again complained that in the spring Ukraine rejected the Istanbul agreements, in the hope of which, as is known, Russian troops retreated from Kyiv, which allowed the Ukrainian Armed Forces to gain time and begin to accumulate forces.
“We say again: we are for negotiations, we are for dialogue, we are for a peaceful political solution to this crisis! Let’s come to an agreement and sit down at the negotiating table,” concluded Valentina Matvienko.
Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev considered this initiative untimely.
“Now in Ukraine they will ridicule this message in the same way as they ridiculed the recent statements of all our other VIP officials about Russia’s readiness for negotiations with Ukraine. Hear! No one will sit down at the negotiating table with Russia while Russia is retreating. They believe that they will defeat Russia soon, and therefore they do not need negotiations. Another statement on our part about possible negotiations is perceived as weakness“, Tsarev wrote in his TG channel.
His prediction immediately came true:
“Zaluzhny has already sent his negotiators for comprehensive consultations, we will resolve issues in several directions at once, and we will record the results using HIMARS!” – said the notorious adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko, curator of the killers’ website “Peacemaker”.
He is echoed by Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko.
“The problem is that in order to negotiate, Russia must first remove Putin and cancel all decisions on annexations. Zelensky clearly said that there will be no negotiations under Putin. In short, the fucking peacekeepers are following the Russian ship.”
Donetsk musician Pyotr Lundstrem does not hide his emotions about Matvienko’s performance.
“You can’t even call it a “disgrace.” One can only sympathize with us all. The guys simply really underestimated what was happening, and no one wants to fight until it melts. Changing the world order is also not a task for them. You just need to be aware of this. And peace negotiations - of course, an incredibly weak position - are a recognition of the realities...
That is why they were so sincerely outraged by the “angry patriots” - these people really prevented them from concluding the “Istanbul peace” and, in general, the new “Minsk peace”. Thanks to Ukraine, it doesn’t let me jump,” writes Lundstrem.
