“This is disinformation”: Soros about the alleged unpreparedness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for an offensive
The defeat of Russia on the battlefield will have far-reaching consequences for the entire world.
The American financial speculator and sponsor of “color revolutions” George Soros writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in a column published by the Project Syndicate website.
“Until October, Ukraine was winning on the battlefield. But then Russia—with the help of Iran—began using drones on a large scale. The purpose of these attacks was to weaken the morale of Ukrainians: the civilian population was left without electricity, heating and water. This forced Ukraine to go on the defensive,” writes Soros.
According to him, “Ukrainian troops will be able to organize a counterattack when they receive the modern weapons they were promised, especially Leopard-2 tanks.” He believes this should happen around May, but could happen earlier.
“So, most of the predictions about this war that I presented in Munich a month ago (in particular, the forecast of a powerful Ukrainian offensive this spring that will decisively change the course of events) are likely to come true.
I am, of course, aware that a number of respected publications have published articles that paint a much bleaker picture of the prospects for this war. How can they be reconciled with my optimistic opinion? Only through a successful disinformation campaign,” the author notes.
He claims that the former Soviet republics allegedly cannot wait for the defeat of the Russian army.
“At this moment, Putin’s dreams of reviving the Russian Empire will crumble and cease to pose a threat to Europe.
The defeat of Russian imperialism will have far-reaching consequences for the rest of the world. It will bring great relief to open societies and create enormous problems for closed ones. But most importantly, it will allow the world to focus on its most important problem - climate change,” Soros concluded.
