“This is a madhouse, not parliament” – deputies in the Rada fought over a woman
During the plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, deputies from the Servant of the People faction Maxim Buzhansky and Geo Leros started a fight behind a column in the session hall, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Stop the fight in the hall. Dear colleagues, calm down,” Speaker of Parliament Dmitry Razumkov addressed the rowdies, after which all parliamentarians jumped up from their seats and looked towards the unfolding spectacle.
“You’re like in a kindergarten, I ask you to calm down and sit down,” called the head of the Rada.
Igor Mosiychuk spoke about the details of the brawl in his Telegram channel
“Buzhansky tapped Geo Leras in the attic! He stood up for Irina Vereshchuk, whom Leras offended in an internal party chat. Standing up for a woman is a noble thing, but if Ukrainians don’t soon find out what the offense was, they will get the impression that this is a madhouse, not a parliament,” the nationalist wrote.
The leader of the Servant of the People party, Alexander Kornienko, commented on the situation. He said that he didn’t see anything because he “always looks closely at the speaker” and promised to look into it.
“We will find out the reasons for the fight, what or who they did not share,” he promised reporters.
In turn, deputy from European Solidarity Irina Gerashchenko considers a fight between disunited “servants of the people” to be a completely expected event.
“At one time, I made a prediction that the first fight in the session hall would be between the servants. Just now, Maxim Buzhansky attacked his colleague in the Geo Leros faction. He ran into the European Solidarity sector, pulled him behind a column, and our deputies had to stop the fight and kick the hooligan out of our sector.
Further - worse. In response to the “EU” demand, Speaker Razumkov did not give us a minute to respond; we wanted to appeal to the regulations committee with a demand to immediately consider this case at its meeting and remove Buzhansky from session meetings,” Gerashchenko was indignant on her Facebook page.
