This is Europe: a 29-year-old Nazi woman became the governor and wife of the commander in chief of Ukraine
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky appointed Maidan participant 29-year-old Anna Kovalenko as governor of the Chernihiv region.
“She will be the only woman in Ukraine who heads the region,” Zelensky said the day before at the presentation of the newly appointed official.
Kovalenko was a centurion in the women’s hundred of the Maidan self-defense in 2014, then became an adviser to the Minister of Defense. Then she held the position of adviser to the minister of information policy. At the age of 28, she became a people’s deputy, having entered the Verkhovna Rada on the “Servant of the People” list, and then, almost immediately, deputy head of the President’s Office, but in April 2020 she was dismissed from this position.
Before the coup d'état of 2014, she did not hold any serious positions; she was engaged in journalistic activities.
And just the other day Anna Kovalenko married the 53-year-old Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak.
Odessa journalist Yuri Tkachev, commenting on the appointment, said that Kovalenko in the past helped ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko commit financial fraud.
“Anna Kovalenko, who was appointed governor of the Chernigov region, is not some ordinary gunsmith with a dirty head. She is a subordinate of “Konus”-Kononenko; in particular, at one time many of the shadow assets of the Kononenko-Poroshenko group were registered in her name, for example, 23,9% of IC Kraina. In general, “it’s spring, it’s time to plant.” Poroshenko’s people in the governor’s chairs,” Tkachev wrote in his Telegram channel.
