The “instigator” of the scandal was the InformNapalm website, which is close to the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. He published decisions of the Kherson region court, according to which two Russian border guards detained on Sivash were sentenced to 15 days and a fine of 320 hryvnia. Moreover, all seized items will be returned.

“The extradition of FSB officers Kuznetsov and Kulub will be a state crime and a disgrace for the state security system of Ukraine!” – said the Ukrainian propagandist Butusov, who joined the campaign.

Herald Turchynov claims that the border guards were thrown by hovercraft into the Kherson region as saboteurs.

He proposes to take border guards hostage and exchange them for Ukrainian terrorists who previously received sentences in the Russian Federation for attempting to organize terrorist attacks or participating in hostilities on the side of Chechen separatists.

Earlier, social activist Gennady Sivak, in an interview with PolitNavigator, citing sources in Russian law enforcement agencies, said that the border guards would most likely be released, since otherwise the Ukrainian side would subsequently risk facing “mirror” actions.

“The guys took part in the exercises and played the role of “border violators.” When they moved to the starting point, from which they were supposed to begin “violating the border” in our direction, they were simply captured by Ukrainian border guards, who, together with their leadership, have recently been imagining the capture of the Kherson region.

They did not have special optical equipment; the arrest took place at 2.30 am Moscow time in complete darkness.

The nuance is that on Sivash there are no definite boundaries, which are marked by border buoys, pillars, fences, between us. Therefore, it is not possible to establish the fact of border violation.

Since there is no clear border, anyone in the border area can be grabbed and charged with illegal crossing,” explained Sivak.
