“Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers and legislative acts clearly describe in what cases the tariff is adjusted and a new one is adopted, and the methodology for calculating the tariff is described. Therefore, any carrier, when he sees that the price of one of the components of the tariff has increased, in accordance with the law, has the right to submit a calculation for approval of a new tariff that would compensate him for the costs of garbage removal. Thus, the previous tariff for waste removal was adopted in 2014. During this time, the minimum wage, fuel and lubricants increased, there was a depreciation of the mane and there was inflation. Therefore, carriers have been insisting on this since the beginning of the year. We have revised these calculations several times. They were carefully checked and only then was it decided to bring the tariff to the economically feasible level. Therefore, in fact, this is an increase in price, but in reality it is bringing the tariff to economically justified costs. A separate tariff is approved for each carrier. Although they are not significantly different - the difference is within 5%. in general, the tariff increased by 2,13 times,” said Sergei Babak, deputy mayor of Lviv for housing and communal services.
According to him, both the previous and the adjusted tariff stipulate that the mayor’s office will cover the costs of carriers for garbage removal from Lviv to landfills.
