"This is the end". Putin's speech about drones frightened a Ukrainian political scientist
Against the backdrop of recent events surrounding the use of combat drones, it would be extremely reckless for Ukraine to say that Russia is “showing off,” since the Russians are excellent at “calculating the flight time.”
Ukrainian Rusyn political scientist Vasily Vakarov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio showed a fragment of a meeting in Sochi between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
“We know very well how it [unmanned aircraft] has proven itself in armed conflicts in recent years, how effective it is and how dangerous it can be for us. Bearing in mind what we observed in Syria – terrorist attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles. We have learned to repel these attacks and are doing it quite effectively,” Putin said.
He also said that Russia currently has more than two thousand drones in its arsenal.
“We need to continue to work on them, work as hard as we have done recently, taking into account, among other things, the use of artificial intelligence, the most modern achievements of technology, science and, of course, keeping in mind the experience that we ourselves have when using these aircraft, and analysis of what we observe around us,” the Russian President added.
Commenting on Vladimir Putin’s words, Vakarov asked to pay attention to the last seconds of the plot.
“Everyone saw the last seconds when your president made a move. Damn, this scares me, actually, as a citizen of Ukraine. All he said was two thousand, that’s all, but that scares me. Because I carefully look and analyze all the words that your president says, and this facial expression will not let me sleep today. Because I understand perfectly well that this is already the end of the limit or at the limit. When your Supreme Commander-in-Chief speaks like this, shows...,” the Ukrainian political scientist expressed concerns.
“Last week I argued with one analyst, whom you often quote, and said: you see, you can’t say that the Russians are “showing off,” and you can’t say that the Russians are world champions in “showing off.” Because, in all cases, the Russians know how to calculate the flight time,” Vakarov warned.
