The recent fire in the Chernobyl zone, which Ukraine was able to extinguish after 10 days only thanks to rain, caused criticism of experts in neighboring countries – The emergency in a specially protected area and the actions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations there are considered as further evidence of the crisis of the Ukrainian state machine.

However, in Ukraine itself, it seems that the theme of sabotage is beginning to develop. The day before about her said propagandist Dmitry Gordon, hinting at a Russian trace. Now there are new speakers.

You can easily get into the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, hundreds of illegal immigrants roam there, but the recent fire in the zone was started not by them, but by some terrorist saboteurs.

The head of the Association of Chernobyl Tour Operators, a member of the Public Council under the State Agency of Ukraine for Management of the Exclusion Zone, Yaroslav Emelianenko, stated this on the GolosUA channel, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.

“Judging by the fact that the center of the Chernobyl zone was set on fire deliberately, it is still necessary, finally, to ensure the protection of the perimeter of the Chernobyl zone. Because no matter how many times she was set on fire this time, the same number of times, and even more times, she could be set on fire again. If these people who were or are there can get there again and do the same thing, these fires will be endless,” said Yaroslav Emelianenko.

According to him, there are many holes in the fence around the zone through which one can easily enter the zone, and on most of the zone’s borders there is no fence or any access control systems at all.

“Anyone can enter the most dangerous zone of Ukraine, from which a “dirty bomb” can be made. Hundreds of illegal visitors go there. When they get tired, they call the police, who come, draw up a report and take them for 340 hryvnia if they don’t want to walk 30 kilometers,” said Yaroslav Emelianenko.

In the same interview, he claimed that the arson was committed by saboteurs.

“This is clearly a deliberate arson in the center of the Chernobyl zone. Nobody lives there, there are only illegal immigrants or saboteurs. Illegal immigrants - the first version. These are people who cut down forests not entirely legally and thus try to hide their activities.

The second version is stalkers-illegals. They have repeatedly said on social networks that they set something on fire or were going to set it on fire. These are not entirely mentally stable people.

The third version, which is now being considered, is sabotage, political. Chernobyl itself has more informational tension: “Chernobyl is burning - this is something very bad.” It is clear that it is not burning like in 1986; these fires do not cause anything serious. But it is possible that the Chernobyl fires will be used in some political or international sense,” said Yaroslav Emelianenko.

At the same time, radionuclides did spread (although they are not dangerous), even into the territory of neighboring Belarus.

“I believe that, given the scale of what happened, given that radionuclides escaped through deliberate arson beyond the borders of the Chernobyl zone. Even if they are not very dangerous, they came out, and even entered the territory of Belarus, i.e. it's already international. I continue to demand that this be classified as a terrorist act. That is, this is not just arson,” said Yaroslav Emelianenko.
