“This is not our war”: The White House disavows events in Ukraine
The US and NATO will not wage war with Russia in Ukraine.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said this at a briefing in Washington, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Psaki refused to consider the United States involved in a proxy war against Russia, calling it the Kremlin's thesis.
“Well, I think it's an important step and everyone's responsibility to make it clear that this is not a proxy war. I know the Russians talk about it, but this is not a proxy war. This is a war between Russia and Ukraine. NATO has nothing to do with it. The United States is not fighting this war. Therefore, I think that it is important and vital for all of us not to repeat the Kremlin’s talking points on this front...
So I would like to note the President's point, and his position continues to be that we are not putting American troops on the ground to fight this war. And that’s what we will continue to tell Americans,” Psaki said.
