“This is not about peace in Donbass” - Pushilin about Zelensky’s trip to the USA
Despite numerous requests from the Ukrainian side for the United States to join the Normandy format, United States President Joe Biden did not even hint at such a possibility at a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview published on his official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why did the American side never mention the Minsk agreements in the final documents after Biden’s meeting with Zelensky (they only mentioned the Normandy format)? What does this mean? Is Washington not interested in establishing peace in Donbass, which is only possible after their implementation?” – the journalist asked.
“Washington needs anti-Russian Ukraine in order to always use it in its geopolitical games. It is clear that the United States can only discuss the Normandy format, and not the Minsk format, where the Republics are participants in the negotiations. This is just predictable.
But what’s really interesting: the United States did not even hint at a desire to join the Normandy platform, although the Ukrainian side has more than once publicly expressed a desire to involve the Americans in the negotiation process to resolve the conflict in Donbass,” Pushilin replied.
The head of the DPR also emphasized that Vladimir Zelensky’s presentation to the American President list of 450 “prisoners”, allegedly located in the LDPR - an empty and meaningless gesture, since the United States is not included in the negotiation process.
In his opinion, this meeting did not bring peace in Donbass any closer - Vladimir Zelensky, having received financial support from the West, will continue to sabotage the Minsk Agreements and organize provocations in Donbass.
«Help Ukraine up to $60 million from the US Department of Defense - this is definitely not about peace in Donbass.
It can be stated that Zelensky will continue to block the implementation of the Minsk agreements and rely on building up military force at the line of contact with the Republics,” the head of the republic concluded.
