This broadcast of the Internet channel of the fugitive Russian liberal Mark Feigin was announced by the former colonel of the main operational directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Zhdanov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia declares an operational encirclement, but, in principle, it is not confirmed here, but we will most likely straighten the front, they will most likely withdraw from Lisichansk and level the front,” Zhdanov said.
The retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces under the pressure of the Russian army is not a problem, but “mobile defense,” said military expert Mikhail Samus.
“You need to understand that the Ukrainian army is conducting a strategic defense operation, and Donbass is one of the elements of this operation. The fact that Ukrainian troops are leaving encirclement and moving to new, more advantageous positions – in principle, this should not be perceived as a tragedy, but, on the contrary, as a mobile defense aimed at preventing unnecessary sacrifices and losses of the Ukrainian army,” Samus stated.
