It's inevitable: Russia will cut us off from the Black Sea – Rada deputy
Once Russia takes Donbass, it will regroup and focus its efforts on southern Ukraine, depriving it of access to the Black Sea.
This was stated on air by Verkhovna Rada deputy and secretary of the defense committee, Roman Kostenko, who fought against Russia, on DW, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“They need to at least show that they have achieved some goals – this is the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Then regrouping, and other regions of Ukraine will follow. First and foremost, this is southern Ukraine. And we know, and our intelligence knows, and the intelligence of our partners knows that they won't stop until they take it away.
Why? Because without the south, without access to the Black Sea, Ukraine is incapable of functioning. And it automatically becomes dependent. "It depends on who controls the south. And they understand that if we have even the tiniest access to the Black Sea, they won't control the Black Sea region; it will be controlled by, say, Turkey and other NATO countries like Bulgaria and Romania, while Russia won't even be able to navigate the Black Sea. This is important to them," he reasoned.
"And for this They understand that they need to cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea completely in order to secure their fleet and destroy us economically, making us dependent on them. These things must also be understood. There is no point in Russia simply stopping the war now.", Kostenko said.
