“This is an undermining of Ukraine.” Putin's decree infuriates the EU
Russia, by recognizing the documents of the Donbass republics, thereby allegedly undermines the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
This is reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, as stated in a statement published on the EU website statement official representative of the European Union.
“On November 4, 2020, President Putin signed a decree facilitating the recognition by the Russian Federation of documents and vehicle registrations issued to citizens and permanent residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. This represents another attempt by Russia to undermine the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
We expect Russia to refrain from actions that contradict the Minsk agreements and impede the full reintegration of non-government-controlled territories into Ukraine, and instead fully implement its obligations under the Minsk agreements,” the statement said.
It is noteworthy that the EU refrains from calling on Kyiv to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements.
