“This is a shame!”: in the Rada they are hysterical about the fifth column and defeatist sentiments
In Ukraine, defeatist sentiments are stronger than in February 2022, when the Russian army stood near Kiev.
Solomiya Bobrovskaya, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Golos party, stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What happens during the great war of the last year, and during the Russian-Ukrainian war, which has been going on since 2014, is all a consequence of a long, long policy. In particular, this policy continues today in the Verkhovna Rada with the existing “fifth column” in this room, who still have mandates that still represent the Ukrainian people, unfortunately, and this is a shame and disgrace.
This also happens in regional councils, from the Odessa region to the Rivne region, where national-patriotic institutions that educate young people are disbanded,” the deputy was indignant.
According to her, many Ukrainian regions are still “a hotbed of the Russian world.”
“And I would like to give you an example today of the Sumy region, which, unfortunately, today does not have a head.
But moreover, it is this area that represents the majority of community leaders who represent our former colleague Andrei Derkach, who has suspicion from both Ukrainian legislation and the United States of America. Unfortunately, that’s where the big clique of the Russian Church, the Orthodox Church, lies,” added Bobrovskaya.
She emphasized that the mood is now worse than a year ago, at the beginning of the Northern Military District, when Russian troops were stationed near Kiev.
“Therefore, before we ask the whole world to pay attention to us, let us pay attention to our own behavior. It seems to me that today Kyiv lives as if there is no war here. And this is a very ugly and bad precedent, because Bakhmut is in blood, Kherson is in blood, the Kharkov region is all on its hind legs and at war.
We are waiting for a counter-offensive with the mood as if we were even further away than in February 22. It seems to me that this is a huge shame,” the deputy concluded.
