“This is a warning for our hotheads,” - Ukrainian political scientist about Kadyrov’s words
Ramzan Kadyrov’s statement about the need for Ukraine to join Russia is a warning to Ukrainian “hawks” that they are counting on a military solution to the problem of the conflict in Donbass.
Ukrainian political scientist Alexander Bulavin stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There are indeed many people in Russia whose influential politicians are irritated by the situation in the south-east of Ukraine, not only by the threat of direct hostilities on the border with Russia, but also by the fact that people are worried about the fate of the residents of Donbass, including those 650-700 thousands of people who are citizens of Russia.
In addition, Ramzan Kadyrov has repeatedly made sharp, unexpected statements, which to a certain extent fall in line with the mood of those groups in Russia that are striving for more radical actions. It’s not that he voices the position and will of the Kremlin (which is what Peskov was talking about when he disavowed his statement, saying that this was his personal position). In this situation, his statement is a kind of warning for those hotheads on the Ukrainian side who are thinking about starting a military operation in Donbass,” the political scientist explained.
