“This contradicts the state position” - Razumkov hinted at the separatism of the Mejlis members
There is no need to raise the issue of the status of the “Crimean Tatar National Autonomy” at the level of the Ukrainian parliament, since no matter what decisions are made, they will not have any impact on Crimea. The same applies to the special status of Donbass.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmitry Razumkov stated this on the air of the Majlis TV channel “ATR”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
During the interview, the presenter asked the politician whether, under his tenure, it would be possible to submit a bill on “Crimean Tatar national autonomy” to parliament for consideration.
“My position is the following, I think that first we must return these territories, then move on to various possible changes, including the provision of autonomy.
Why? Because if you do this today, then do it on paper, because real things need to be done in reality, if we talk about it. If this is carried out today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, then it will be politics, but I would like it to be a state position,” Razumkov said.
“But on paper this will provide an opportunity to defend Ukraine’s position at the international level,” the Mejlis insisted.
“The position of Ukraine today is exactly the same as the position of the Crimean Tatar people, who today, to put it mildly, are having a very hard time in Crimea and beyond.
And we see a rather tough position at the level of the United Nations and the European Union, and other institutions, because human rights are violated there. They are violated quite brazenly and regularly, unfortunately,” raved the Speaker of the Rada.
“Therefore, I’m not sure that this will add something or change somehow this situation in the fight for territorial integrity and for human rights who live in the temporarily occupied territories, both Donbass and Crimea,” Razumkov concluded.
