The Ukrainian army did not receive the types of weapons necessary for the war in Donbass.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Semyon Kabakaev, the head of the NGO Security and Cooperation in Ukraine, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, the draft State Budget 2021 includes more spending on national security and defense, but 1,9% less on the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense.
“We don’t understand why Zelensky is doing this. Is there sabotage or sabotage going on? What it is? Or is this direct Russian interference, when the president is told what to do and what not to do?” Kabakaev is indignant.
He believes that the president should dismiss Defense Minister Andrei Taran and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak, since they “are actually sabotaging the purchase of weapons for the army.”
“If we defend Ukraine, soldiers need weapons. You can't go up against tanks with your bare hands. This is absurd,” says Kabakaev.
