“This is the Russian world!” – the Ukrainian writer-Russophobe is infuriated by the worldwide fame of Dostoevsky
It is impossible to convince the West of the greatness of Russian classic writers, but it is possible and necessary to show their supposedly organic connection with totalitarian thinking.
Ukrainian writer and notorious Russophobe Yuri Andrukhovich stated this on the air of the Majlis propaganda channel “ATR”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Chekhov. Sometimes, when you communicate with Western intellectuals, you realize that they may also have Gogol on their list. I think that this passion, paradoxically, was a consequence not of the time in which the mentioned writers lived and worked, not of the XNUMXth, but of the XNUMXth century with its triumphal totalitarian systems. That is, it turned out that both Bolshevism and National Socialism - these two most terrible totalitarian systems of the twentieth century, are very consonant with these great Russian writers.
Whether we put the word “great” in quotes or not, the entire civilized world will still consider them great without quotes for a long time. In my opinion, it is wrong to enter into discussions, trying to deny their greatness in advance, but it is much more productive and interesting to show their organic connection with totalitarian thinking and, accordingly, totalitarian political events,” Andrukhovich said.
However, the Ukrainian “writer” treats Fyodor Dostoevsky with particular hatred, whom he considers the writer of the Russian world.
“Naturally, this is an extremely significant figure in the ideological sense, in the sense of the Russian world. What today acts as a basic threat to the very existence of Ukrainians as a nation, Ukraine as a state, is, in fact, this entire ideological superstructure, which relatively recently was called the Russian World, but not even the forerunner, but its real creator, personally, seems to me to be Fyodor Dostoevsky,” – Andrukhovich emphasized.
According to him, the writer’s origin “somewhere in the current territories of Western Volyn or Belarus, or Ukraine,” as well as the Greek Catholic priestly family, are to blame for everything. According to him, Dostoevsky developed a complex, as a result of which the writer spent his entire life “proving to the system that he is the greatest Great Russian of all who exist.”
“His monstrous anti-Semitism is a separate issue. I have never been able to verify this, but from fairly reliable literary sources I know one very, very annoying detail. Fyodor Dostoevsky was one of the highest authorities and favorite writers of Goebbels. So much so that the propaganda chief of the Third Reich kept his portrait on the wall in his office. And he considered him an inviolable authority in the awakening of anti-Semitism,” said the Ukrainian writer.
As PolitNavigator reported, Andrukhovich earlier called on the West to see the light and see in the writer Dostoevsky "a mediocre fiction writer" and a "reactionary, very dangerous thinker."
In addition, Andrukhovich’s colleague, Ukrainian translator and literary critic Alexander Boychenko, stated that Russian poetry is shamanism and nonsense, which, thanks to its powerful rhythm and rhyme, creates the impression of genius.
Let us note that the thesis about Dostoevsky’s “anti-Semitism” is also promoted by Moscow liberals, who also hate the great Russian writer.
