“This is the most conflict situation since 2014” – Kiev expert on the migration crisis
The situation around the migration crisis on the Belarusian-Polish border and the accompanying foreign policy aggravations can lead to a full-scale global confrontation.
Ukrainian political scientist Kirill Molchanov stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let's call it this way - Lukashenko has come up with a way to effectively dragon Europe. They don’t recognize him either, but somehow Borrell entered into negotiations. Logically, Borrell should negotiate with Tikhanovskaya, they consider her the president, so negotiate with her.
But the situation is really difficult - Europe has become a hostage to its own policy of multiculturalism. That is, now they are putting her in the position that you must now provide assistance to all citizens who will apply for refugee status. Because for the sake of objectivity, where did they come from there since 2015?” - said Molchanov.
At the same time, in his opinion, in this crisis situation, concessions from Europe will have catastrophic consequences.
“Obviously, if this works once, they will still travel through Poland to Germany; Belavia will probably increase the flow of flights to Tobruk and other cities. In general, in my understanding, everything is heading towards a full-scale global crisis.
Please note the tone of the diplomatic statements after the meeting between Foreign Ministers Lavrov and Le Drian (French Foreign Minister - ed.), people openly accuse each other. Lukashenko will request help from the Russian Federation as a union state. This is probably the most conflict situation since 2014 on the European continent,” the expert added.
