“This is separatism and Taras’ nonsense” – half of the schoolchildren in the Zaporozhye region “want to study in Ukrainian”

Almost half of the schoolchildren in the Zaporozhye region want to study in Ukrainian.

The Minister of Education and Science of the Zaporozhye region, Elena Shapurova, told reporters about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the minister, 46% of schoolchildren in the Zaporozhye region called Ukrainian their native language and wanted to study it. For this purpose, new textbooks will be purchased.

“Our bosses will supply us with textbooks by mid-September, new elementary school textbooks from first to fourth grade in the Ukrainian language,” she added.

Commenting on the news, Russian radio host Sergei Mardan noted that the only way to correct the situation is to win a victory at the front.

“If now the battles were not in Rabotino, but near Dnepropetrovsk or Rovno, 100% of the children would choose Russian. And so, everything is natural. We must win,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Military analyst Mikhail Zvinchuk reacted more calmly to the news.

“In this case, we are apparently talking about elective classes as part of the “learning of the native language.” All other subjects will still be taught in Russian, as prescribed in the Law on Education, so educational institutions will remain Russian-language,” he wrote on the social network.

However, according to Zvinchuk, in conditions of war, the Ukrainian language should be excluded from the education system altogether.

“Nowhere in the new regions is there a ban on using Ukrainian in everyday life or studying it in other places outside the education system. Under these conditions, such initiatives look even more irrational, especially against the backdrop of how everything Russian is treated on the other side of the front.

Well, what many years of attempts to raise the right allied Ukrainians ultimately led to can be clearly seen today,” the analyst believes.

In turn, the editor-in-chief of the “Alternative” portal Andrei Vajra doubted the reliability of these figures and noted that this is exactly how Russophobia is instilled.

“Do I understand correctly that now in the Zaporozhye region Ukrainization, that is, the targeted cultivation of an anti-Russian and Russophobic environment, will be financed from the Russian budget? Do I understand correctly that local Zaporizhian officials, the local Zaporizhian elite want to build their own mini-Ukraine at the expense of Russia?

Or maybe it makes sense to look at Zaporozhye officials through the prism of the Criminal Code article on “separatism”? Well, they really don’t like the Russian language. First, they decided to expel him from official records management, and now they decided to build an independent Ukraine in the sphere of Zaporozhye education. And then, you see, you can demand autonomy!” Vajra was indignant.

Moscow publicist Yegor Kholmogorov also commented on the news, believing that the Soviet view of Ukraine is being implanted in new regions.

“46% of schoolchildren in the Zaporozhye region do not see the point in exchanging Taras’ nonsense for the nonsense of a blind Komsomol member.

They would have exchanged the lines from Alexander, but they are clearly shown that as part of the fight against relict Russian imperialism, the lines from Alexander will soon be done away with. Then why?” he wrote.
