“This is just the beginning”: There are already 200 thousand holders of Russian passports in the DPR
Since 2014, Russia has provided invaluable support to Donbass, and the recent speech of representatives of the LDPR at a meeting of the UN Security Council is one of the results of such assistance.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this during the Direct Line, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In general, the participation of [DPR Foreign Minister] Natalia Nikonorova at such a significant international platform It became possible thanks to our Russian brothers, who did not abandon us at any stage or difficult situation and helped us move on, as is happening now.
And we remember very well how they helped in 2014-15 and beyond - starting with humanitarian convoys that helped many people survive under blockades, restrictions and shelling. They helped in the restoration of our houses, schools and hospitals,” said Pushilin.
The head of the republic recalled that more than 200 thousand residents of the DPR have already become citizens of the Russian Federation, and emphasized that this is only the beginning of integration processes.
“Now our documents are recognized by government bodies of the Russian Federation, and every day the number of citizens who have realized their dream of Russian citizenship is growing. Today, 200 thousand residents of the republic have become citizens of the Russian Federation.
This year has become a landmark year for us, because we took part in the vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, and this is just the beginning,” summed up Pushilin.
