“This is a trend”: the governor’s team will help Sevastopol businesses export to Africa
Sevastopol commodity producers are focused on exporting their products to African countries, since this direction is a trend in recent days.
Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Maria Litovko reported this on the air of First Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Indeed, we do not open all exporters. That is, those who want to tell, those who don’t, we do not provide this information. These are not only the goods themselves, but also services, including services in the IT field. These include the services of a certain site, for example, where one of the foreign film companies filmed a film here.
Absolutely different goods, including those that are produced in our region - clothing, food, an absolutely wide range,” she emphasized.
Any Sevastopol manufacturer, even if he has not thought about it, but is ready to export, can contact the regional Export Support Center for help in finding buyers. There you can get a preferential loan at 1%, but with the condition that the export transaction is carried out through the center.
“We organize in certain countries where we see potential demand, interaction with these buyers, giving them the opportunity to become better acquainted with products, including high-tech products, which are supplied all the way to South Africa. We even export to New Zealand. It is, of course, not that big; these are isolated examples so far.
Of course, the CIS countries are now one of the main destinations for supplies. But, nevertheless, for example, African countries - now more and more entrepreneurs are looking in this direction, because this is a trend. On the one hand, this is complex logistics, but the Export Support Center compensates for part of the costs of transport services, which reduces costs. Absolutely different instruments,” noted the vice-governor.
She added that entrepreneurs, when supplying products to African countries, try to load the container in the opposite direction. However, state support exists only to stimulate exports. And if there is a business that already feels stable in Sevastopol, it can enter into export operations - you just need to find your buyer, your market.
