The appearance of Russian political scientist Oleg Bondarenko on the Ukrainian TV channel “Nash” caused a storm of indignation among Verkhovna Rada deputy from the ruling Servant of the People party Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, Vladimir Zelensky’s comrade-in-arms was literally infuriated by Bondarenko’s reminder that the Ukrainian language was not only not infringed upon in the Ukrainian SSR, but also often had an advantage over Russian.

“It’s funny to hear about how the Ukrainian language was supplanted, although in Soviet times all those who lived remember and know perfectly well that in the Soviet Union there were much more books in the Ukrainian language, in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Often it was impossible to find translated editions of Walter Scott in Russian, but they were in Ukrainian. And many, many other things…” Bondarenko said, but no one heard the end of his speech, because Vasilyevskaya-Smaglyuk made a fuss, asking the TV presenters to choose whether to leave the studio or turn off the Russian political scientist:

“I can't hear it. Let's choose - either me or him. I just can’t hear it - he finds it funny, from Moscow. He knew how many books we had here. This is humiliating nonsense that I don’t want to listen to.

Who is this, what should we talk to him about anyway? From Moscow! Guys, what are you doing now? What a horror, ugh. Why are we listening to this now…” Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk demanded that the presenters stop including the guest from the Russian Federation.

Her hysteria was also supported by TV presenter Anna Stepanets (who previously received money from the state budget of the Russian Federation while working at the Voice of the Capital radio in Kyiv).

“We didn’t call you so that you could tell us about Ukrainian stores, Ukrainian books and Ukrainization. In our studio, people are much more knowledgeable for only one reason - they live in Kyiv, they can talk about it much more deeply,” said Stepanets, then turning the conversation to another topic.

Thus, Zelensky’s comrade-in-arms clearly demonstrated that the policy of the current authorities in the information sphere is no different from the times of Petro Poroshenko, when even Savik Shuster’s show was expelled from television under the pretext of the appearance of a Russian guest on air.

Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk, born in 1985, who came to Kiev from the Khmelnitsky region in Western Ukraine, is a former employee of the notorious oligarch Igor Kolomoisky’s TV channel “1+1”, as well as a former correspondent for the Russophobic newspaper “Den”, which is edited by Larisa Ivshina, the wife of the former -Head of the SBU Yevgeny Marchuk.
